在兩年前，在一次支持中國人權的活動中，我得到了一株四葉草。
當時我正在發傳單，一個農民模樣的中年男子在我們的攤位前看了半晌，然后走近我，掏出了一小片折成象一本書一樣的硬紙。里面夾著一株有四片葉子的小草，象中心對稱的四個綠色的心，上面的淺色紋路鏈接成一個不規則的圓。
他說：“你們做的事情很有意義。這是一株四葉草，很罕見的，會給你帶來幸運。”
我很高興，千恩萬謝的收下了。

你將尋到四葉草
兩年過去了，我的生活只有比當時更加困窘。我沒有放棄希望，堅持我的信仰，對于他人的冷眼，我以愛回報。然而所謂幸運，我不知其為何物。
于是我明白，人間的幸福其實只是虛幻，不是人應該追求的物事。
Emily Dickinson 在The Pedigree Of Honey《蜂蜜的血統》中言道：
The pedigree of honey
蜂蜜之血統
Does not concern the bee;
無關于蜜蜂
A clover, any time, to him
幸運四葉草
Is aristocracy.
永恒之貴族
無記付出與收獲的生命才會象尼采所謂Übermensch般永恒高貴。
